Links to First Ward Candidate Forums

Did you know there have been three candidate forums for the First Ward Common Council?

Whether on camera, in person, or on the radio – these forums put Kayla and me together side-by-side – creating a unique opportunity for us to address the issues that matter to you, such as public safety, housing, flooding, homelessness, affordability, City staffing shortages, and management of the City budget.

Thanks to our local public access program Ithaca Politics, you can see all four candidates vying for 2 seats to represent Ward 1.  Watch the Sept. 19th exchange between me, Cynthia Brock and Kayla Matos (4-year term), and then Phoebe Brown and Zach Winn (2-year term) later in the program.  Ithaca Politics, PEGASYS Public Access Channel 13 will have forums for all the races for the City of Ithaca. You can see the Mayoral forum here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6rnGVLaAGM

In Person https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfYO5BdDx7I

You can also view the pre-primary forum hosted by the League of Women Voters at GIAC on June 10th.

On the Radio (listen and read) https://www.wrfi.org/2023/06/12/conversation-with-ward-1-common-council-candidates/

WRFI Community Radio and The Ithaca Voice brought conversations with candidates in the 4 contested Common Council primary races. Celia Clarke of WRFI and Matt Butler Editor-in-Chief of The Ithaca Voice interviewed the candidates.

I am running to keep my seat on the Common Council in a time of great change in the City.  I promise to continue to work hard for all Ithacans, with a commitment to fiscal prudence, transparency and accountability, dedication to progressive government, and a focus on maintaining and enhancing our City’s core services.

Thank you for your support, and for helping to inform and educate our community.
